Former Gethsemane standout Greer Evans (Class of 2004) signed to play basketball for Southwestern College in Phoenix.  After a year at Arizona State University, Evans will return to the hardwood for her sophomore season at Southwestern.  Southwestern College is a member of the NAIA Division II. In addition to her success at Gethsemane, Greer went on to have a successful high school career at Valley Christian in Chandler.  While at Valley Christian, she won the 2005-2006 Team MVP award and the team's hustle award all four years and also starred in Track & Field at VCHS, being a member of four state championship teams. 

Greer had this to say about the decision to choose Southwestern College, “I chose Southwestern College because it will be a great opportunity to prepare me for ministry, as well as being a part of a great basketball program.”

Southwestern head coach Brandon LeTarte commented on the signing saying, "Greer is a high character young lady and we are very excited to have her. She will bring a lot of heart and hustle to our team as well as give us a lot of aggressiveness. Her athletic ability and basketball IQ give her a good "knack" for the ball. She will be a key component to the make up of our roster."
